Tottenham- work in progress

The parade of shops that lie in Walton to the south of Tottenham Hale makes a canvas for the poetic text imagery. The project image is the combination of states of water- all within a cycle of transformation. Rain >Spring>River>Sea. which then leads back to the state of rain.

The project will be in combination of poetic text The combination of a rural setting in an urban environment is also central to the idea- creating an environment that is peaceful and is concessive to environmental awareness. The project will involve the local communities in the painting of the shutters with a particular emphasis of youth groups and local community groups that are concerned and committed to provide a positive image for Tottenham.

The poetic images used within the piece form a narrative that uses the states of water as imagery that relate to emotional states. These emotional states all interrelate with each other; rain that starts of the whole process relies on the sea which is at the end of the journey. It draws parallels with states of life but more importantly a life affirming relationship with grief and loss.
